Overview of Support offered
Learn the correct use of force and appropriate techniques for any situation while remaining within Criminal and Civil laws. Understanding the important of a justifiable reason for using handcuffs, along with their correct application is vital when detaining an individual. For a lot of young people, having such a certification and owning such equipment shows maturity, ownership and commitment to potential employers as anyone who is willing to practice these techniques must understand the legal implications which comes with them.
If you work with the public where situations arise where you have to extract, move or detain people then this course is ideal for you. Typical roles include Door Supervisors, Civilian Enforcement Officers, Bailiffs, certain aspects of Nursing, Hotel Porters, Private Prison Officers and Civilian Detention Officers.

What equipment should I bring?
All training equipment is provided but attendees should wear comfortable clothing, allowing them to go to the floor repeatedly.
Our Advanced Physical Intervention & Handcuffs certified learners will have an enhanced level of knowledge of their legal responsibilities and boundaries they have to work in. This not only prepares them for a situation where they have to apply them but also equips them with knowledge of Citizens rights and Citizens Arrest rights. This can improve their confidence and self-esteem as their peers will want to learn this information, and so improve their social standing within certain groups.
