10am – 4pm – 6 week programme

Overview of Support offered

The course will take you through the practical aspects of weight training, where you will learn the correct lifting techniques. You will also cover the theory side, which will enable you to plan the correct exercise programmes to help your future clients achieve their goals.
You will also learn about healthy lifestyles and basic nutritional requirements the body needs when doing exercise.
On completion of the course, you will be given the opportunity to complete a week’s work experience at the gym.

Training shoes, tracksuit or shorts and t-shirt.

Outcomes expected

Once the course is completed, the young person will be able to apply for fitness instructor jobs in the public and private leisure sector. They will be able to do work experience at the gym where they completed their course.. They will gain a greater understanding about training and fitness and hopefully move onto a level 3 personal trainer qualification.
