Overview of Support offered

We will offer a short rail training programme focused on giving clients aged 18+ mandatory rail qualifications and sector knowledge to enhance their opportunities to achieve sustainable employment within the rail sector. This unique 3-week programme ensures that your clients receive robust, intensive training resulting in achieving their Personal Track Safety (PTS) mandatory qualifications required to work on track in the rail sector and a CSCS Card.

We will put an action plan in place for all learners to include challenging negative attitudes / promoting positive attitudes, confidence building and motivation, career advice and what rail recruiters are looking for with support in bespoke CV’S relevant to the rail sector, providing contact details of potential employers and explain optimum routes for engagement to gain employment. Our prime focus is on actively engaging these people to learn about the rail industry sector and be “work ready” on completion of our programme.

All learners must attend a Drugs and Alcohol pre-screen at the start of their programme and pass. They will then commence the rest of their programme which is a combination of learning which will result in both the achievement of Infra Skills in house certificates and Highfields accredited qualifications

The Rail Training Programme will be delivered over a three-week intensive period, Monday – Friday 09:00-16:00. It will be delivered at our Training Centre in Aston and also at our operational training site at Severn Valley Railway, a 16-mile heritage line, where we have exclusive access to the Bewdley to Stourport section where “real life” training can be delivered in a safe environment.
