This course will be delivered at our centre in Gnosall
1 day per week – 4 weeks – 10 – 3.
Overview of Support offered
You will gain a variety of qualifications during this course all accredited by the Association of British Riding Schools and Open College Network. You will need to complete the level 1 award first. You will complete a range of OCN units such as working with others, developing skills techniques and equipment associated with horses. Working in a team. Organising an activity. Health and safety in an equine environment
Stable Management course 1
Know how to approach a horse in a box or stall, and be aware of safety around horses. Put on and fit a head collar.
Lead in hand in a head collar. Tie a quick release knot. Pick out feet and know what to look for. Name 5 articles of the grooming kit and know their uses. Know and point to 10 parts of the horse.Know the colours of the horse and point out 5 different colours on your yard. Design a course to walk horse through.
Basic introduction to riding.

what equipment should I bring
Warm clothing. All other PPE will be provided.
Gain more stable management experience, develop existing equine qualifications to move onto the diploma. Improve your leadership and planning skills. Develop a good understanding of time management.
