where is it?

Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham, B16 8SZ


Sessions are held on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 1.30pm and 4.30pm and Fridays (health and wellbeing workshops) between 1.30pm – 4.00pm.

Courses last for approximately 1 month and then start again once a course has finished.

Overview of Support offered

PSD & Employability Programme for deaf & hard of hearing programme is a 40 guided learning hour’s programme, focusing on the development of skills such as confidence, motivation and employability skills including CV, Interview techniques and preparation for work. As well as tackling issues such as isolation, anxiety and depression.

Participants can also access Health and Wellbeing workshops that discuss health related issues and ways of tackling them. The programme is delivered by profoundly deaf coach who is able to communicate in a deaf person’s first language or preferred mode of communication including British Sign Language, lip speaking and communication through interpreters and through hearing loops.
