The programme:
This session will introduce the concept of Mental Toughness, it is highly

      positive response

These all help to develop the capability to deal with stress, pressure and

      • challenge and, where appropriate, to cope with these.

Key benefits:

        • Understanding that resilient attitudes and habits can be developed and
enhance performance, leadership and general wellbeing at work and in
          life
        • Understanding why one person struggles when another thrives
        • Improving the ability to understand and solve problems remaining

positive under pressure

  • Maintaining performance, stamina, clarity and logic under pressure
  • Developing more effective responses to pressure through key personal

development strategies and tactic development.

  • Understanding the reports and how to use them with their mentees

Positive outcomes include helping people to maintain consistently high levels
of performance, reducing stress-related absence and to transfer the
knowledge learnt tools and techniques in the delivery of mentoring with their
young people.
The training will be delivered with the young person in mind with a range of
tools and techniques, delivered in a range of ways.
Mental Toughness supports the young person’s journey:

engagement, this is me, – Self-awareness is the key, through the MTQ
questionnaire people can understand the blockers and barriers they have been
facing the mentees can use their reports to develop their resilience and mental
toughness and start to remove limiting beliefs. Mentors can also receive a copy
of the coaching reports to support one -2- one coaching upon agreement from
the mentee.

I’m up for it – A ‘No’ to a mentally sensitive individual could turn in to a
never, by understanding a mentees mental toughness you can work on
their particular areas of development to enable that ‘No to be a Not yet’
turning negative situations in to opportunities to learn and grow.

I’m on my way – Mental toughness links to performance, wellbeing,
aspirations, when entering the world of work all of these areas are
important to employers. Supporting the development of mental
toughness will allow mentees to embrace the world of work with a more
positive attitude, with tool and techniques to support them.
The training will allow young people to:

        • Understanding that resilient attitudes and habits can be developed
and enhance performance and general wellbeing at work and in life
        • Improving ability to understand and solve problems and remain
          positive under pressure
        • Learning to view setbacks, adversity and change as challenges
        • Adversity bounce-back techniques, and tools and exercises to improve
          resilience skills
        • Understanding the importance of selfcare
        • Increased flexibility and confidence, with a stronger sense of being in
          control when faced with uncertainty
