Overview of Support offered

Services we are able to offer:

Preparation for Work Experience: A valuable tool if you are attending a work experience placement or are struggling to find a placement and need guidance. The session will focus on an employer’s point of view, health and safety at work, suitable/unsuitable employee, travel and getting the most out of a placement. A Post Work Experience Debrief is also valuable.

Mock Interviews: A ‘real’ interview experience with representatives from the business community. A fantastic opportunity to take part in a face to face interview with a representative from the workplace followed by informative feedback which can be taken on board for the future.

Raising Aspirations: Short and long term action plans will be completed, breaking activities down into manageable chunks so you feel your goals are achievable. We encourage business facilitators to be honest about their career paths: what has gone wrong / right for them, this gives individuals a realistic view of the world of work and the obstacles you may face.

Presentation Skills: Aims, structure, form, timing, top tips, team and individual presentation practise. Presentations are something that are often involved in any job role to some extent; part of the interview process, team meetings or pitches.

Life Skills and Money Matters: Work Related documents explained – what is national insurance or a p45 etc.? What happens when things don’t go to plan? A key focus will be perceptions you have about work compared to simulated ‘real life’ financial situations and the facts and the employability skills required for the world of work.

CV Writing: Developing the ability to evaluate your academic achievements, skills, hobbies and personality in order to construct a CV.

Career Fairs and Work Experience Placement Finding.
