Overview of Support offered

Zebra Uno Ltd operates interpreting service for Deaf people, mainly offering support in BSL/SSE (British Sign Language/Sign Supported English) using local interpreters. More specific support requirements such as lip-speaker, note-taker (electronic and manual), Speech to text reporting and Deaf-blind interpreting service can also be provided where required. All interpreting support requirements such as training, meetings, interviews, informal discussions, social events and so on are delivered in all kinds of environment and settings such as warehouse, offices, conference centre, outdoors, farms, retail parks and so on.

Zebra Uno Ltd will also provide you with support and guidance through their ‘Access To Work’ application and claims where required to ensure that there is the required funding to support your communication needs in your work place enabling you to reach your potential.

Zebra Uno Ltd also provides consultancy services and bespoke Deaf Awareness to individuals and companies who will be working with Deaf people by working with the Deaf individual to ensure that the Deaf Awareness and consultancy covers all their needs. Further support can be provided to Deaf individuals and companies post Deaf Awareness/consultancy to maintain communication accessibility for everyone involved.

Given that Zebra Uno Ltd is Deaf led company employing Deaf people with varying backgrounds who have developed themselves to where they are today in different roles such as IT Technician, Company Directors, Project Management, PR/Marketing Officer and Media Officer, there are ready made mentors for you to aspire to. Deaf mentors for different professions can be recruited via our extensive support network to support you accordingly.

Outcomes expected

The expected outcome is for you to have access to communication support at all times. Also to provide you an access to a Deaf role model who will offer mentoring service in their preferred language – BSL (British Sign Language) or SSE (Sign Supported English) or lip-speaking.

The other expected outcome from this support is to work with companies and organisations that may be taking you on in meeting their Equality duty of care ensuring that you reach your potential in your workplace without discriminatory communication barriers.
